Playing Online Poker
Sometimes making
a withdrawal can be quite distressing, but there
is a way to do it easily and quickly. Here is a
method that provides maximum security and relatively
hassle free deposits and more importantly withdrawals
from your bankroll or gambling money. If you don’t
intend on making withdrawals I suggest you find
another hobby, stay on the play money tables, or
contact your local gambling intervention organization.
1. Open a new/different checking account
at your local bank. This serves two purposes actually:
It does not expose your normal checking account
to the Internet, and it keeps your normal budget
away from your gambling money. Since it takes effort
to make the transfer it gives you some insulation
between the two accounts.
2. Establish an account with an online
transfer service like Neteller, Firepay, etc.
3. Register your special checking
account with the transfer service. This will take
a few days as they will make a small deposit to
verify the account. Once verified you are ready
to transfer funds back and forth.
4. Normal transfers take 2 or 3 business
days. There is a special Instant Cash but this is
a cash advance and the fees are quite high. NEVER
USE INSTANT CASH. It has a negative EV (expected
value).
5. Keep most of your bankroll in your
Neteller etal. account. You should only withdraw
funds that you intend to spend. In the Neteller
account your bankroll is always available immediately
to take advantage of some special promotion or bonus.
6. Open your real money account at
your selected poker site. WIN.
7. When you have accumulated some
winnings transfer the some money back to Neteller
and then transfer a small amount back to your checking
account. It will take 2 or 3 days before it is available.
You make this initial withdrawal to establish and
test the line of transfers. Once you have completed
this test withdrawal all future withdrawals will
go much more smoothly. Remember these sites often
use some significant security measures to insure
the send your money to you and not to someone else.
You can request a check but it much more complicated
and may take a 1-2 weeks.
There is one major drawback to this
method of withdrawal. Your bank may report these
deposits to the IRS. Keep the withdrawals small
may help but there will still be a transaction record.
So, now there is no reason you should
have no reason not to set it up and get online.
See you at the tables.
